City centre site now fully let as Co-op signs lease on 41,500 sq ft

M&G Real Estate and intu, joint owners of Manchester Arndale, have announced Arndale House is now fully let following a deal for the Co-operative Group to lease 41,500 sq ft of office space.

Arndale House is a 19-story building above the city centre shopping centre and home to sought-after office space in central Manchester.

It provides flexible arrangements for a range of businesses, including its current occupants Sainsbury’s, Premier Foods, Sopra Steria and Markerstudy.

With panoramic views of the city, the office building also benefits from undercover access to Manchester Arndale, one of the UK’s leading shopping centres.

Manchester is home to more than 2.7 million people and has a larger economy than that of Wales or Northern Ireland.

The city’s strengths have enabled it to develop a strong reputation as a competitive place to do business. It sits in the centre of the Northern Powerhouse, and over recent years it has benefited from investment in skills, innovation, retail, transport and culture.

Scott Linard, director of asset management (retail and leisure) at M&G Real Estate, sai on behalf of the joint owners: “The Co-operative Group’s decision to take 41,500 sq ft at Arndale House is a testament to its excellent location and superb transport links.

“The fact the building is now fully let highlights the demand for quality office stock in Manchester city centre as it continues to benefit from business investment and stronger connectivity.

“We are living through unprecedented times, but we are continuing to focus on how we can future-proof our office space and ensure it meets the needs of our occupants.”

Jonathan Cook, associate director at CBRE Manchester, said: “We’re delighted to finalise a deal with the Co-operative Group at Arndale House. It offers a contemporary office environment and has a commanding presence on the city’s skyline – it’s no surprise it is now fully let.

“Its adaptable floor space combined with its prime location and accessibility to a range of amenities and facilities have proved to be a selling point for the building.

“We’ve worked closely with our asset services team and centre management to secure this deal – we’re thrilled.”
