Ball & Berry drives forward expansion plans following recruitment drive

Ball & Berry, a leading corporate approved inspector, has revealed plans to expand its UK footprint following a boom in construction activity.
The Preston-headquartered firm, which has offices in Manchester, Birmingham and London, has started driving forward expansion plans following a recruitment drive.
Having furloughed half of its team at the start of the first nationwide lockdown, the company welcomed back all staff within three months and has since recruited 15 new members across its offices, including creating several new senior roles.
And with plans to open further offices in 2022, Ball & Berry is also set to make several more key hires in the coming months.
Paul McNeill, director at Ball & Berry, pins the success on the company’s investment into staff training, buoyancy in the domestic and commercial building markets and the quality of its consultative approach.
He said: “Having a substantial and efficient support team is the backbone of our business.
“People often join Ball & Berry saying their previous employer didn’t offer the right internal infrastructure to turn around quotes on time, so we’ve made a conscious effort to over recruit in key areas to ensure our clients experience a fast but always high quality level of care when it comes to their instructions and certifications, so we can maintain our excellent reputation.
“We attract the highest calibre of people because of what we invest into them.
“We’ll soon complete our annual Personal Development Programme process, which enables us to identify areas our teams want to improve, if they want to take on additional responsibility or undertake new qualifications, and we encourage them to do that because if you’re not learning, you’re standing still.”
He continued: “Homeowners are still adapting their properties to cater for home working, and government investment has seen commercial projects boom – we have truly ‘built back better’ to pre-pandemic levels in terms of our revenue.
“Money will be continually pumped into booming industries; for example, the launch of the National Cyber Force is set to add £5bn to the economy, which will inevitably be spent improving buildings and infrastructure, and we’re making sure we are part of that by expanding our footprint to offer a truly national presence.”
