Industry experts, Hive Projects, has expanded its offering across the North West by taking space on Liverpool’s waterfront, for at least the next three years.

The Manchester-based business has taken office space at Peel L&P’s 100,000 sq ft No.12 Princes Dock site on Liverpool Waters.

Signing a fixed term lease until at least April 2025, Hive Projects, which has a growing team of 17 staff, will now offer the option to work flexibly between its Manchester HQ and the new Liverpool site, with its waterfront location due to drive recruitment opportunities for people in the Liverpool City Region throughout the upcoming months and years.

Princes Dock is the first phase of Peel’s £5.5bn Liverpool Waters scheme and is located next to the iconic Royal Liver Building.

Alongside Grade A office space, the Princes Dock neighbourhood also provides residential buildings, a multi-storey car park, and leisure facilities, which include restaurants and coffee bars, public open water swimming sessions, canoeing and scuba diving, as well as the Malmaison and Crowne Plaza hotels and the Liverpool International Cruise Liner Terminal.

Peel L&P was represented by Brabners on this deal.

Chris Waine, director, Hive Projects, said: “Having celebrated two years of rapid growth, major contract wins and the expansion of our leadership team since 2020 in Manchester, our new Liverpool site will help us consolidate our position in the marketplace, strengthen the client relationships we already have in the region, and provide greater employment and project opportunities in Liverpool, allowing our team to work within new areas.

“With staff members already living and working around the city and with projects with Peel L&P and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital already in our portfolio, we will now relish the chance to really put Hive Projects on the map in the city, after rapid expansion at the other end of the M62.”

Liza Marco, asset manager at Peel L&P’s Liverpool Waters, said: “Hive Projects’ new premises are located very close to the new Everton FC stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, a project which they have recently completed some work on for Peel L&P.

“The transformation of the Liverpool waterfront is attracting a wide range of businesses who want to be a part of our vision for Liverpool Waters and to locate themselves at the very heart of the regeneration of our world famous and historic docks.”

No. 12 Princes Dock is home to Cargill, CMA and CGM Shipping. The building has a double height reception and entrance, together with a full height glazed atrium which provides breakout space.

Set up in 2020, Hive Projects has defied the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic by generating turnover in excess of £1m in year two, the result of a diverse and robust client portfolio that includes the likes of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Foundation Trust, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, Stockport Council and Oldham Council.

Its workforce has also increased fivefold in the same two-year period.
