Utility Bidder makes move into Manchester city centre

ABC Building on Quay Street, Manchester

Energy switching advice service Utility Bidder has moved in to a 5,177 sq ft office space in the ABC building in Spinningfields.

The new Manchester office is part of Utility Bidder’s plans to grow the business this year. The company currently brokers energy and other utilities contracts to over 14,500 SME clients across a number of industry sectors in the UK.

Utility Bidder’s head office is in Corby, Northamptonshire, and the move to a northern base in Manchester city centre follows an expansion to Leicester in August 2023 for its 100 strong staff.

The last full accounts year (made up to 31 December 2022) show the business made £1.8m of pre-tax profit on turnover of £14.7m.

Utility Bidder chief executive Chris Shaw said:  “Transitioning to a more sophisticated location for our Manchester branch marks the next stage in Utility Bidder’s continuous expansion”, he said.

The new office space includes puppy yoga sessions, a bar and function area, and discounted gym memberships.

“The new office space, designed to accommodate additional team members in line with our growth objectives, not only provides ample room but also boasts various advantages. Situated in the prime location of Manchester City Centre, the office enhances our team’s working experience, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive since the team has already seamlessly settled into their new environment.”

Kulzinder Garcha, associate solicitor in the Leonard Curtis Legal Real Estate team advised Utility Bidder on the office lease.
