PZ Cussons launches new HQ

MORE than 100 top business people and civic dignitaries attended the launch of PZ Cussons’ £6m global headquarters by Manchester Airport last night.

Chief executive Ales Kanellis told guests, including the Lord Mayors of Manchester and Salford, the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, that the vision for the purpose-built 40,000sq ft facility was to create a: “vibrant stimulating and flexible working environment, which would connect people and inspire innovation.”

He said the group was passionate about its commitment to Manchester and its wider community, and highlighted several projects and charities the group supports, including the Seashell Trust, the Halle orchestra, Manchester International Festival, Imperial War Museum North and the Feelgood Theatre.

He said:”We don’t like shouting about it, but it’s part of who we are and what we’re about. Values are our guiding principles.”

Guest were entertained by the Halle youth choir, and from representatives of Feelgood and the Seashell Trust.

Around 250 people will be based at the new office, which has been relocated from Stockport. The company, which owns the Original Source, Imperial Leather and Carex brands, last year opened a £26m innovation and manufacturing centre at Agecroft in Salford.

Among the representatives from the North West business community were: John Young from the Bank of England, Giles Fletcher from CBI North West; Angie Robinson, chief executive of Greater Manchester Chamber and a number of leading bankers, lawyers and accountants.
