Napthens ensures 19th hole will be Open

THOUSANDS of spectators and hospitality guests will able to quench their thirst at next month’s Open Championship thanks to Lancashire law firm Napthens.
Licensing experts from the Preston firm advised The R&A (organisers of The Open Championship) on licensing matters for the event to be held at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in July.
The championship will return to the historic Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club from July 15-22.
A hospitality area at the course includes the Open Guest Restaurant, Open Clubhouse Restaurant and private chalets, plus the new Open Champions Restaurant, all set within a tented village.
Head of licensing Malcolm Ireland said: “The Open will be a major boost to the area and it’s great to be a part of helping to make it the successful event it will undoubtedly be.
“Hospitality is a major part of The Open experience, and the licensing requirements have been a necessary and complex element of that. I’m looking forward to seeing the results in July.”
