New division for PJ Livesey

MANCHESTER developer The PJ Livesey Group has set up a separate new build division to help maximise heritage sites.
The company will work to design and deliver sympathetic new elements alongside existing buildings which are often Grade I or Grade II-listed.
Construction is currently underway in Dartford, Kent, with two rows of mews properties and a small number of apartments being built in the walled grounds of the former Stone House Hospital.
The main Grade II listed hospital buildings on the site are being converted by the PJ Livesey Group into a mix of individual properties as part of a £12m redevelopment project.
PJ Livesey Group director, Georgina Livesey, said: “The separate new homes division allows us to make best use of a site and also retain control over style and standards.
“We carry out sympathetic conversions of existing buildings to maximise original features but the new build gives us the scope to be very detailed and thorough on the needs of the buyer and in terms of space and specification.
“We are very pleased with how it is working at Dartford and expect a similar arrangement at some, but not all, of the projects we have in the pipeline.”
The firm has recently signed an agreement with the Homes and Communities Agency to redevelop Lancaster Moor Hospital and has schemes on site in Bolton, Huddersfield and Frodsham.
