Lettings latest: Gap takes space the Lowry Outlet Mall, new tenant for MSP

GAP Outlet and Holland & Barrett are the latest signings confirmed for the Lowry Outlet Mall in Salford Quays, Greater Manchester.

Centre manager Rob Hallworth: “This is all positive news for the Mall ahead of entering the busy Christmas season. We are delighted to have secured Gap Outlet and H&B Outlet. Gap Outlet in particular is a destination retailer, appealing to a wide section of people, which we believe will attract shoppers from across the Northwest region.”

The 8,000 sq ft Gap shop will occupy a ground floor unit adjacent to Cadbury’s Factory Outlet, and opposite the Suits You store, which moved to make room for Gap which opens on September 8. Holland & Barrett will begin trading on September 1, under the name H&B Outlet.

The Lowry Outlet Mall said it is in on-going negotiations with a number of other retailers, including footwear and homeware shops. It said the signings followed another strong month for the Mall with year-on-year sales up 2% and footfall up 3%.

Manchester Science Parks (msp) has welcomed new tenant, Name Your Number Ltd (NYN), to its site behind the University of Manchester, one of its four locations.

NYN provides software that allows mobile phone networks to generate new revenue by offering personalised mobile numbers. It has offices in Spain and Argentina and works on an international scale. The business said it decided to make Manchester Science Parks its UK hub to take advantage of the business collaboration opportunities available with other tenants.

Attiq Qureshi, of NYN, said: “While we consider ourselves a global business, we felt having a base at MSP allowed us to work collaboratively with our technology partners as well as take advantage of other business support organisations in the wider Manchester area.

“Locating to MSP was a natural choice for us. The fact that it is a home to so many innovation-led businesses means that we can link in with other tenants to further develop our technologies, while maintaining our international profile due to the site’s proximity to the airport.”
