LIVERPOOL’S International Festival for Business will focus on the creative industries next week.
The Dream Factory on July 14-15 will give a platform for home-grown talent to help and inspire newcomers to the film industry.
Organisers of the event said it will focus on the creative process: from fundraising, making and selling, to marketing, promotion and distribution.
It will be presented by people responbible for films such as Gangs of New York, Paranormal Activity, Get Carter, Welcome To The Punch, The Sweeney and A Single Man. There will be special screenings and delegates will have the opportunity to pitch ideas to a panel of experts such as Jeremy Baxter of Pinewood Pictures and Chris Moll of Creative England.
The Dream Factory’s curator is Stuart Ford, a former Liverpool media lawyer Stuart Ford who now runs the Hollywood sales and distribution company IM Global.
He said: “The Dream Factory promises to be a vibrant, informative and richly entertaining two-day immersion into the best of British and international cinema. It is fantastic to be part of the International Festival for Business showcasing the richness of the UK’s creative industry. The Festival is not to be missed and I’m very excited to be in the thick of the action.”
