60 jobs created at new Walkabout venue

THE company which owns Walkabout, iNTERTAIN, is due to open a new venue in The Printworks, Manchester next month, creating 60 jobs
The newest addition to Walkabout’s portfolio of venues is due to open with a VIP party on Thursday December 10.
The Printworks venue will undergo a £500,000 renovation to transform it into a new-style Walkabout, benefiting from plush VIP areas as well as a state-of-the-art wave bar, where linked screens showing under the sea and surf footage combine with specialist lighting to give the impression of being in a coral-reef paradise.
The new opening has led to new bar, kitchen and management jobs.
The venue – located in the former Henry J Beans – will be decorated in an urban style befitting its Northern Quarter location and will boast a variety of pre-bookable booths and private areas for parties, meals, club nights and live music.
Front row seats can also be pre-booked for all major televised live sports events. They will be shown on giant new projection screens, and multiple HD TVs.
General manager Martin Angus said: “The Printworks is already known for being a fantastic entertainment hub and we’re sure that our new venue won’t disappoint.
“We’re already taking bookings for our opening night and beyond and can’t wait to show people what we’ve got on offer.”
Fred Booth, director at The Printworks, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming Walkabout as a new tenant in The Printworks. Known for great nights out and sport, they’re set to bring an exciting new vibrancy to the complex, which is already Manchester’s number one party venue.”
