Appointments: Duxbury is new chair of IoD in Cheshire; Grant Thornton beefs up tax team

ANDY Duxbury, chief executive of Chester and Manchester-based commercial law firm Aaron and Partners, has been appointed as the new chair of the Cheshire branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD).

Mr Duxbury takes over the role from Nick Robinson who has moved to a position on the IoD’s national council.

With a background in marketing he has worked in a range of industry sectors for companies such as Boots, British Car Rental, Coalite Smokeless Fuels and RAC Motoring Services. In 2003 he moved to law firm Cobbetts as business development director.

He said: “I want to use this opportunity to engage with the IoD members in the region and ensure that as an organisation we are serving businesses in Cheshire to the best of our abilities. It is now more important than ever for our members to make their opinions heard, and for many, lobbying the local branch is the most direct route to influencing wider IoD policies.”
