Brewery toasts to trio of accolades
The brewing team at Bristol’s Butcombe Brewing Co has scooped three Gold medals at this year’s British Bottlers’ Institute (BBI) Competition 2024.
Judges awarded Gold to Butcombe Brewing Co’s Butcombe Original, Rare Breed Pale Ale and Goram IPA Zero.
The competition, which has been running for nearly 70 years, is a blind tasting of canned and bottled drinks by a team of experienced judges and industry experts assembled by the BBI and attracts entries from all over the world.
Mike Jordan, head brewer, says: “Wow, what a result! To receive Gold medals for all three entries is fantastic, especially against such stiff competition. Butcombe Original continues to grow in popularity and is now the South West’s favourite beer, Goram IPA Zero is a real favourite with a trophy cabinet to match and Rare Breed, our collaboration with Adam Henson, is an absolute winner.
“These Gold medals pay testament to the hard work and innovation of our excellent brewing team, who work tirelessly to create products our customers love.”
