Plans for nightclub to be turned into student scheme tipped for approval
Plans for a former nightclub and bar in Plymouth to be turned into student accommodation have been recommended for approval.
The Mousetrap on 40-42 North Hill has established A4 consent, with the premises comprehensively refurbished to basic landlord fit out to offer opportunities for new business premises.
The accommodation is over two floors, lower ground and ground floor, with separate services being offered to each unit, either as a whole or split.
Since 2019, the building has been vacant despite gaining planning permission for its conversion to offices.
An application has now been submitted for the change of use, conversion and extension of the existing building to provide purpose built student accommodation.
Plymouth City Council’s planning committee will consider the application today.
An officer’s report has recommended to grant conditional permission for the scheme, subject to conditions.
