Godwin lodges plans for third Bristol resi scheme

Godwin Developments, in partnership with Bristol-based developer Ferrer Projects, has submitted a planning application for a new residential development in Bristol – its third in the city in the last 12 months.
The proposed scheme, located on Hope Road in the sought-after area of Bedminster, will transform a disused 0.65-acre brownfield site into a residential development featuring 88 sustainably designed one- and two-bedroom apartments.
Designed by locally based architects AHR, the scheme ranges from three to seven storeys in height. All apartments are dual-aspect to maximise natural light for residents and include private outdoor spaces, such as balconies or terraces.
The development also incorporates a landscaped south-facing courtyard.
In line with Bristol City Council’s environmental ambitions, the development includes limited car parking provision and instead focuses on promoting sustainable travel. Residents will benefit from extensive bicycle storage facilities, with a total of 204 spaces provided, encouraging the use of cycling as well as walking, and public transport.
Yuved Bheenick, residential development director for Godwin Developments, said: “We are delighted to have submitted our plans for the Hope Road development to Bristol City Council. Bristol faces a significant shortage of quality housing across all tenures, and this former industrial site provides an excellent opportunity to regenerate a disused brownfield plot into a modern, well-designed residential community. Our apartments have been designed to meet nationally described space standards as well as Bristol’s Urban Living policies, ensuring they meet the needs of the local community while contributing to the city’s housing supply.
“We want to express our gratitude to our entire professional team who assisted us with this application.”
Hope Road is the third residential scheme being progressed by Godwin in the city, having recently acquired a project from Places for People on Dove Lane and submitted a planning application for a 101-bed student living development on Newfoundland Road in St. Paul’s area of the city.
