Law firm adds to private wealth team

Law firm Burges Salmon has welcomed Stewart Jordan as a director in its tax and private wealth team.

Jordan, who joins from TLT, is an experienced lawyer acting for a broad range of UK and international trust and fiduciary service providers, private individuals and their families in relation to legal and tax matters. With a specialism in international taxation, he also advises clients on HMRC enquiries, including providing assistance in regularising historic tax issues through voluntary disclosures to HMRC.

Jordan, who will be based in Bristol, said: “Burges Salmon’s proven track record of complex cross-jurisdictional work is a perfect fit for me. The firm’s impressive international and UK client portfolio speaks volumes about its capabilities and reach, and I am excited by the opportunities to work with a team that sets the benchmark for excellence in private wealth.”

John Barnett, partner at Burges Salmon, adds: “Stewart’s impressive experience in international work will add additional support to a wide range of our clients – particularly for non-UK trustees. Following tax changes announced at the Autumn Budget, we’ve seen a rapid and steady increase from clients seeking advice and support. By growing and investing into our team, we ensure our clients continue to receive the best advice and value their experience working with us.”
