Law firm welcomes new litigator

Polly Ridgway

Swindon law firm Thrings has announced the continued growth of its agriculture team with the arrival of a new litigation expert.

Polly Ridgway joins the firm from Clarke Wilmott as a legal director, bringing more than a decade of legal experience that has seen her act for clients on a wide range of agricultural matters. Her areas of expertise span a wide range of disputes include farming partnership issues, tenancies and occupation issues, land disputes, and contentious probate, estates and trusts.

She has also acted for clients in high-profile cases, notably acted on the opposing side to Thrings at the Supreme Court on the landmark Guest v Guest proprietary estoppel case which has shaped the law on farming inheritance disputes.

She said: “Thrings is one of, if not, the best agricultural law firm in the country, with an outstanding reputation for excellence. I am thrilled to be joining the team and helping them to deliver its exceptional legal service for the firm’s wide array of clients. I am delighted to contribute to the firm’s continued success.

Robert James, partner in the Thrings Agricultural Litigation team, added: “At Thrings, we are always looking to strengthen our ability to provide a comprehensive service that meets the needs of our clients by having the best people for the job. With Polly’s outstanding track record and profile within the market and the farming community, we are excited to have her join the team.”
