19th century manor house hotel and lodge resort for sale in South Cornwall

The Wyndham Trenython Manor Hotel, a restored 19th century manor house hotel and lodge resort in Cornwall, is up for sale.

The Victorian manor house hotel sits within 24 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland areas in the village of Tywardreath.

It dates back to 1872 and has been restored into a hotel comprising 25 en-suite guest bedrooms.

There is a hotel spa which comprises a large indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool. There is also a fully equipped air-conditioned gym and two treatment rooms.

In the grounds there are 37 self-catering holiday lodges.

Thirty five of the 37 lodges have been sold off to individual owners and 33 of these lodges provide an income to the resort owner through one of two popular leaseback programmes. Two freehold 2-bedroom lodges will be included in the sale.

Matthew Smith, hotels partner at Knight Frank, said: “Wyndham Trenython Manor represents a great opportunity to purchase a well-located restored resort business which benefits from multiple income streams, and also provides several value-add opportunities, to include planning permission for 23 static caravans which could potentially be converted to an additional 11 luxury lodges, which will no doubt enhance the future growth of the business.

“Our clients central accounts office is based at the resort and there are several large office areas located on the ground floor of the hotel that are currently non-income generative and could be reconfigured to provide additional guest bedrooms and food & beverage areas. Overall, the hotel offers the potential to create an award-winning holiday destination on the South Cornish Coast.”

Knight Frank is seeking offers in excess of £2.75m.
