Professional services firm moves into new office in Exeter city centre

Multi-disciplinary professional services consultancy WSP has moved into new office space in Exeter city centre.

WSP has signed a ten-year lease at Longbrook House which is located in the heart of Exeter’s castle quarter, adjacent to Exeter Central train station.

Charlie Hodgson, executive managing director for transport and infrastructure at WSP, attended the opening of the new office on Monday.

The consultancy has taken 11,500 sq ft of space on the third floor of the recently renovated building. The new office will be larger than WSP’s previous office in Exeter and feature increased space for co-working and collaboration with clients.

Around 250 people will be based at Longbrook House, supporting clients including Devon County Council, National Highways and South West Water.

In the South-West, WSP has worked with Plymouth City Council since the inception of the new Platinum Parkway at Forder Valley, being part of the team managing the delivery of the link road over the last ten years. Through its presence in Exeter, WSP supports public and private sector clients with expert advice across a number of specialisms, including coastal and flood engineering, transport planning, building structures, energy and civil engineering.

Across the UK, WSP has been reappointed by the UK Government to advise on the delivery of its Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage programme, and appointed by the UK Rail Safety and Standards Board to deliver a report on the roll-out of battery-powered trains.

Roger Evans, WSP’s location director for Exeter, said: “Our new home in Longbrook House opens the next exciting chapter in WSP’s long history in Exeter. We’re looking forward to welcoming our colleagues into our new collaborative environment and working more closely with our clients to deliver meaningful work on behalf of the local community.”
