Poundland converts hibernating stores

Poundland is re-opening two hibernating stores in Birmingham and Coventry as standalone PEP&CO stores offering a range of clothing and homeware.
The stores open on Friday 25 June after they were placed in temporary hibernation last year.
The new PEP&CO on Corporation Street, Birmingham is close to the nearby Poundland store at Martineau Place.
The PEP&CO at Hertford Street in Coventry is not far from Poundland store in Coventry Market Way.
Poundland commercial director Tim Bettley said: “Our customers love our clothing as it offers a perfect mix of everyday essentials and seasonal fashions for all the family.
“Whether it’s a summer dress for mum, a new pair of shorts for dad or our amazing summer sets for the kids, there’s something for everyone at our amazing value.”
Poundland retail and transformation director Austin Cooke said: “Our customers in Birmingham and Coventry will get the best of both worlds – they can pick up PEP&CO items in their Poundland or browse the full range round the corner in the new PEP&CO stores.
“Over the last few years we’ve been working hard on opening PEP&CO shop-in-shops inside Poundland, but in this case it made sense to use the locations as standalone PEP&CO stores. As a company with our roots in the West Midlands, it’s great that we’re still innovating and bringing new experiences to shoppers in the region.
“We couldn’t be opening at a better time for Coventry, as residents and visitors enjoy the fantastic events to mark its year as the City of Culture 2021.”
