Tender opens again for £100m Digbeth scheme

The UK’s largest affordable housing provider Clarion is seeking a contractor for a £100m scheme in Digbeth, Birmingham.

Its development division Latimer secured approval from Birmingham City Council to construct 481 apartments in April on two interlinked buildings of 10 and 38 storeys, on the former Safestore industrial land.

Plans allocate 55% of the residences as affordable housing as through funding from Homes England, Latimer has committed to providing 141 apartments for social rent and 127 for shared ownership.

Companies did have until December last year to express their interest in the scheme but now have until July 10.

The contract is expected to start in January 2025 and run for 42 months.
