Chartis extends lease at Embassy House

INSURANCE firm Chartis Europe has extended its lease at Embassy House in central Birmingham, in a deal secured by DTZ and joint agent Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL).

The firm has committed itself to 10,382 sq ft of space by signing a new lease.

DTZ and JLL acted on behalf of AXA Real Estate Investment Managers. CBRE acted on behalf of Chartis.

The firm has been based at Embassy House since 1987. The building, which is located on Church Street, underwent a £2m refurbishment in January this year which included major works to the reception and communal area.

Matthew Long, associate director at DTZ, said: “Embassy House is a landmark scheme in Birmingham city centre and provides some of the best located and flexible office accommodation in the city.

“The recent programme of improvements implemented by AXA has helped to retain high calibre occupiers such as Chartis, as well as attract new tenants such as Marston Group and Kings Chambers.”
