Bond Wolfe to double the size of its food retail subsidiary

BOND Wolfe, the West Bromwich-based investment company operated by leading entrepreneur Paul Bassi, is aiming to double the size of its food retail subsidiary Eat Fresh.

The company, which operates a number of Subway outlets around the West Midlands, has expanded its portfolio with the opening of a new outlet in Newhall Street in Birmingham city centre.

It now wants to grow the estate and open new franchises in the area, possibly creating up to 100 new jobs.

“We are actively looking for more restaurant and hospitality opportunities,” said Pawan Kenth, of Eat Fresh.

“We currently have five Subway food businesses in the West Midlands, Birmingham, two at Merry Hill , Bilston and Edgbaston and we are looking to increase that to 10 by the end of the year, with two additional sites already identified.”

The Newhall Street unit is a showpiece outlet and the first in the region to feature a more relaxed, coffee-lounge theme in line with a head office directive for city centre locations.

Director Gurpal Showker said: “The takeaway and restaurant has a prime position in the city centre and we are confident it will do well.

“The new contemporary style is very much in keeping with the location.”

Bond Wolfe also has ownership of the UK rights to the award winning Asha’s Restaurant, also on Newhall Street, and operates the restaurant alongside the Subway franchises.

The investment company has been growing its food and leisure offer alongside its principal property businesses, which include Real Estate Investors (REI), Bigwood, Paul Dubberley & Co and Bond Wolfe Commercial.
