Science park launches new start-up enterprise centre

A NEW enterprise centre designed to support fledgling businesses is being developed by Keele University Science and Business Park.

Work is due to start next month on converting a former farmhouse on the north Staffordshire estate into 1,500 sq ft of flexible office space.

Once completed early next year, it will be specifically targeted at companies which have been trading for no more than a year.

Businesses locating to the ‘Nova Centre’ will join a two-year growth programme which will include advice on sales, marketing, HR, performance and strategy alongside networking opportunities.

An announcement on the appointed contractor is expected soon.

Head of KUSBP Caroline Mairs said: “The Nova Centre will be ideal for budding entrepreneurs, including graduates, who are running new business ventures and looking for affordable office accommodation, strategic advice and support to help them achieve sustainable growth.

“Our aim is to help give ambitious, young companies a competitive edge that will ensure that they can develop into strong and successful organisations.”
