EIC wins £2.1m i54 contract

WARWICKSHIRE building services firm EIC has won a £2.1m contract at Moog’s new R&D hub on the i54 business park near Wolverhampton.
EIC will install mechanical services at the purpose-built, two-storey office for the aerospace contractor.
The deal, which forms part of the £14m, 190,000 sq ft first phase of development for Moog, involves the design and build of all mechanical services such as air conditioning, heating and ventilation.
Alcester-based EIC won the contract from main contractor McLaren Construction with work due for completion by November.
Moog is set to relocate its flight controls operation from its existing base in nearby Wobaston Road by September next year in a move that will safeguard around 400 jobs.
Ian Lyall, joint managing director for EIC, said: “This is an extraordinary facility and we are delighted to be a part of its development.
“The mechanical project itself is a large and complex one with a challenging programme, so it is great to have been recognised for our knowledge and expertise in the sector. We are looking forward to getting started.”
