A Solihull beauty business has seen sales surge 20% following a successful appearance at an industry trade show.

Semilac UK, which opted to make the short trip to the NEC’s Beauty UK event, attracted interest from beauty course tutors at South Staffordshire College. The tutors have agreed to use Semilac starter kits for their next Nail Technology course, starting in September.

Aided by support from brand ambassador and glamour model Danielle Lloyd – who appeared at the event, the firm managed to achieve its best ever sales day. In addition to the nail kits, the firm’s new SemiFlash make-up range was also a strong seller.

Semilac UK director, Monika Shine, said: “Beauty UK has been our most successful event and we’re so excited to have made strong links with more salon owners and other professionals like the beauticians at South Staffordshire College.”

The company has gradually been making inroads into the UK market after grabbing a near three quarters of its target market in Poland.

It is now aiming to grow it UK market share and in addition to its retail arm, it is also looking to increase the number of beauty salons it supplies.
