Traffic Alert: Serious accident closes two lanes on M6 near Birmingham

All lanes have now reopened but there still long delays in the area.

A serious collision is causing major disruption to traffic heading south on the M6 towards Birmingham.

Two lanes are currently closed between Junction 7 (Great Barr) and 6 (A38 Aston Expressway) and there are delays forecast of up to 90 minutes, with predictions that the situation won’t revert to normal until around 2.30pm.

Traffic is backed up to Junction 8, the connection with the M5, with queues quickly building back to Junction 10 (Walsall).
