Law firm Hogan Lovells is improving its offer to the commercial property sector to coincide with its expansion in Birmingham city centre.

The firm has recruited five new members of staff, including specialists in real estate, real estate disputes and finance.

The move follows a trebling of the firm’s space in the city with a let on the eighth floor of The Colmore Building, which takes effect from January.

Michael Gallimore, partner and head of the Birmingham office, said: “We are investing in Birmingham, with a new office and new recruits to support our growth plans. I am pleased to see that the combination of our distinctive culture and great work for global clients is attracting high-calibre professionals at all stages of their careers.”

Real estate senior associate Sarah Alldrit has made the short walk across Snow Hill to join the firm from Gowling WLG, where she spent 18 years advising investors, developers, corporate occupiers and retail tenants. A specialist in landlord and tenant matters, SMs Alldrit has particular expertise in asset management and advised on pre-lets at Resorts World Birmingham.

Associate Sarina Mann joins the finance practice, having qualified locally at Hawkins Hatton, while legal adviser Amy Dunn adds real estate disputes expertise. Birmingham trainees Katherine Wood and Vicki Kooner complete the new quintet.

Hogan Lovells opened its Birmingham office in 2015. It now employs 70 people in the city, supporting offices globally.

The firm revealed in September that it had signed a lease to occupy the eighth floor of The Colmore Building. The firm currently occupies part of the tenth floor of the building and the new lease sees it take on 23,388 sq ft of space.
