Developer appoints PR specialist to raise profile on city relocation

Birmingham-based Henry Davidson Developments has turned to the city’s PR community to help raise its profile following its relocation.

HDD, which has been backed by Finance Birmingham, relocated to Birmingham from Nottingham last year to take advantage of the city’s thriving commercial property sector.

As part of its growth strategy, it has appointed commercial property specialist Barques PR.

It is the agency’s second major contract win this year following the appointed of London-based Apsley House Capital.

HDD specialises in retail-led, mixed-use developments. Its new headquarters is located on the top floor of St Philip’s Point.

The firm has a number of large developments underway including the recently announced multi-million pound land deal at Faversham. It has also reached practical completion on two other district centres; one at Didcot, as part of a 3,300 home residential development at the town’s Great Western Park and another at Newton Leys, Milton Keynes which sits within a residential scheme of 2,250 new homes. The two schemes have a combined GDV of £23.5m.

HDD managing director Scott Davidson said: “It was important that we appointed a PR partner with a great understanding of the property sector, and who is well known and respected in the Birmingham area.

“Barques PR ticks both of these boxes, and the team also demonstrated great enthusiasm and passion to come on board and work with us.”

Barques is based in Ludgate Hill on the approach to the city’s famous Jewellery Quarter.

Paul Skipp, director of Barques PR, said: “HDD is a hugely ambitious company which is looking to gain a greater presence in the Midlands and further afield from its new headquarters in Birmingham. We intend to do all we can to support their ambitious growth plans and enhance their reputation for delivering top quality retail-led and mixed-use developments. They have some impressive projects underway and great stories to tell.”
