St. Modwen anounces a series of board changes

St. Modwen Properties has announced a series of new appointments and board changes.

Jamie Hopkins, currently CEO at Workspace Group, will join the Longbridge company as non-executive director on March 1.

He has served with Workspace Group since April 2012 having joined the board as a non-executive director in June 2010.

St. Modwen said he brought significant experience and knowledge in the property sector through a career spanning 20 years.

He was formerly chief executive and then a non-executive director of Mapeley and a director of Chester Properties. He has also acted as a director of Delancey Estates and Savills.

On appointment, he will also serve on the audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

St. Modwen has also announced that, due to other portfolio commitments, Richard Mully, Senior Independent Director, will be stepping down after the company’s Annual General Meeting on March 28.

Kay Chaldecott, non-executive director, will also be stepping down from the board after the AGM, having served almost six years with St. Modwen.

Ian Bull, chair of the Audit Committee, has been announced as the new Senior Independent Director, while Jenefer Greenwood, who joined the business last June, will succeed Lesley James as chair of the remuneration committee after the 2018 AGM. It is a position she currently holds at both Assura and DCH Group.

Ms James will continue to serve the board after the AGM in her capacity as non-executive director but will retire from the board later in 2018.

Bill Shannon, chairman of St. Modwen, said: “We welcome Jamie to the board of St, Modwen, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from the property sector and we are all very much looking forward to working with him. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Richard, Kay and Lesley for their efforts and contributions during their time at St. Modwen and look forward to Jenefer and Ian taking on their respective new roles in due course.”
