Office interiors firm moves to Birmingham to meet spike in demand

A Coventry-based workspace interiors company is expanding into Birmingham with the opening of a futuristic showcase office on Colmore Row.

Rhino Interiors Group works with businesses to future-proof their offices, with the aim of improving productivity and reducing real estate costs.

The new office, at 126 Colmore Row, will see a team of 14 based in a third-floor suite. The 1,600 sq ft office will feature a state-of-the-art virtual reality suite intended to bring clients’ designs to life.

The firm opted to move to Birmingham because of its bustling commercial property sector.

It chose the location of its office so that it was close to major office schemes such as Paradise, Snow Hill and Arena Central.

As well as being a working office, the space doubles up as a showcase for design features suh as collaboration desks, focus booths, sit-stand desks and even a 10-foot ‘living wall.’

The office will also include lots of natural light and the latest advancements in office furniture and lighting, as well as 40 different plants (pots, trees, living wall, hanging plants) as part of a forest theme.

Adrian Dearnley, chief operating officer of the new office, said: “The workplace, and the way we work, is very different to what it was 10 years ago, and future-proofing our offices is key to today’s design.

“While our new office space at Colmore Row will be a fantastic showcase of what we can offer our clients in the here and now, it will evolve over time with our own growth and as workplace design trends change.”

He said the rapid growth in office space in Birmingham and the latest trends in workspace design had created a spike in demand for its services.

“We couldn’t resist the pull to the city any longer, we just had to be here. There are so many exciting opportunities both now and in the future for what we do and for a company of our size,” he said.

During the last 18 months, Rhino Interiors Group has invested in the new Colmore Row office and a head office restructure to support its ambitious growth plans; this included employing more than 20 staff across project management, design, marketing, operations and at site level.

In 2017 Rhino’s turnover increased by 47% year-on-year and maintained its repeat business level at 85%. Its target is to reach £20m turnover by 2020 and boost its team up to 40 staff.
