Development site set to go under the hammer

A Little Aston development site with planning permission for a 22 bedroomed care facility will go under the hammer at an auction later this month.

House on the Hill, 61 Rosemary Hill Road in Little Aston has previously been used as a care facility and sits on a site of approximately 0.72 acres. It has a guide price in excess of £700,000.

It will be one of the lots featured in SDL Auctions Bigwood’s next sale at Aston Villa FC on May 23.

Gurpreet Bassi, head of residential sales at SDL Auctions Bigwood, said: “It is very rare that a site such as this becomes available in an area such as Little Aston.

“This is a very substantial lot and is a 17 bedroomed freehold detached property in its own grounds that is currently vacant.

“It has existing planning permission from Lichfield District Council for the redevelopment of the site to create a 22 bedroomed care facility, but the site may be suitable for a variety of alternative uses, subject to planning permission.

Although within the area of Lichfield District Council, Little Aston is more commonly associated with Sutton Coldfield.

It is renowned as one of the most prestigious residential areas close to Birmingham and is home to celebrities and Premiership footballers.

James Bond himself, Roger Moore once owned a property on Rosemary Hill Road.

Bassi said: “We are experiencing a high level of interest in viewing House on the Hill and expect fierce bidding for this lot when it goes under the hammer.”
