Roof tile manufacturer stays on top with factory investment

Roof tile manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles has invested more than £85,000 into its plastics factory.

The latest investment has allowed for new and improved equipment and technology to be installed at its dedicated plastics site on Wetmore Lane in Burton-on-Trent, to help meet the growing customer demand for its dry verge products.

Dry verge products are a type of roofing accessories which fit over roof tiles to help keep them in place and provide a smooth finish.

Orders of the product have increased considerably in the past few years due to changing weather patterns, the company says, calling for more sustainable roofing and new industry standards.

Employing 72 staff across Burton, Russell Roof Tiles specialises in manufacturing concrete roof tiles – which are produced at a second site on Nicholson Way in Burton – and plastic accessories.

Andrew Hayward, managing director at Russell Roof Tiles, said: “The increase in demand for our products has been growing year on year and our latest investment at Russell Roof Tiles will ensure that we are leading the way in improved modern technology and customer service.

“Russell Roof Tiles’ dry verge products have a proven track record, having been used across the UK. The materials used are of a high grade and are designed to last. As manufacturers, we work closely with the contractors and developers to ensure that they have the best fixing specification which will in turn ensure a sustainable and reliable roofing solution.”
