HDD acquires commuter belt development site
Birmingham-based Henry Davidson Developments (HDD) has acquired a Buckinghamshire site for a mixed-use scheme whch it says is located for London commuters.
HDD managing director Scott Davidson said the firm has acquired the one acre site at Haddenham unconditionally from Lands Improvement Holdings (LIH), with bridge funding from Falco Capital.
Subject to planning consent, HDD plans to develop the site to provide 17 two-bedroom apartments, a Co-op convenience store, and a Bright Horizons Nursery and Preschool.
The site forms part of a 158-acre mixed-use development by LIH, which is set to deliver up to 233 new homes, including affordable housing, for the Buckinghamshire village.
Scott said: “We’re an ambitious company and we’ve got a pipeline of exciting developments right across the country. We have acquired the Haddenham site unconditionally which demonstrates that we are confident we can deliver a high quality development that addresses the needs of local people.
“Being so near to Haddenham & Thame Parkway train station, the homes will be very attractive to commuters who will be well served by regular trains into London’s Marylebone. It is ideally located on the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire border.”
James Stone, managing director at Lands Improvement, said: “This is another major step forward in the sustainable, mixed-used regeneration of our site at Haddenham. HDD have a proven track record of developing similar schemes and the new retail and nursery facilities they will deliver will benefit the existing Haddenham community, as well as the new residents and businesses our development is attracting to the area.”
A planning application will be submitted shortly.
Subject to planning, HDD expects to start on site at the end of Q3 2018, with practical completion in Q3 2019.
HDD recently relocated its headquarters to Birmingham city centre with support from Finance Birmingham.
