Refurb of major distribution hub reaches halfway point

The £2.5m refurbishment of Hay Hall Distribution Hub in Birmingham has reached its half way point.

The refurbishment of the property, being carried out by principal contractor Clad It, on Hay Hall Business Park, began in January and is expected to complete in September.

The ongoing works include the removal and replacement of the building’s roof and cladding, the installation of new dock levellers and level access doors.

The investment by FI Real Estate Management to upgrade the hub has led to its reconfiguration specifically suited to current market demands.

The new hub comprises 96,448 sq ft, which can be split to offer 34,898 sq ft and 61,550 sq ft.

Emily Armstrong, asset and development Manager at FI Real Estate Management, said: “When complete, the refurbished Hay Hall Distribution Hub will be the latest addition to Birmingham’s increasingly vibrant business community, and we expect there to be a significant amount of interest in the unit. With its prime location and superior facilities, the hub is a great opportunity for logistics or distribution businesses looking for a base in the West Midlands. Upon completion, the hub will offer a clean modern finish in readiness for a bespoke tenant fit out.”
