Engineering design firm and property investor sign up to Birmingham offices

Canada Life has let office space at One Seven Two Edmund Street in Birmingham to Hydrock Consultants and MK2 Real Estate.

Engineering design firm Hydrock has acquired 2,755 sq ft on the second floor on a 10-year lease.  Commercial property investment practice MK2 Real Estate has agreed a new five-year lease for 1,439 sq ft on the fourth floor of the building.

Sam Cooke, associate in the office agency team at Savills, acting for Canada Life, said: “We are very pleased to have agreed these deals with Hydrock Consultants and MK2 Real Estate.  One Seven Two Edmund Street’s well-connected location close to Snow Hill Station and New Street Station continues to have strong occupier appeal.”

Mark Rooke, director of MK2, added: “As we continue to grow, it was important for us to be in a building that portrays the right image in the heart of the CBD.  One Seven Two provides modern Grade A space behind a period façade and we are delighted with our new office.”

MK2 Real Estate was unrepresented.  McNeil Commercial acted for Hydrock Consultants.
