New tenants for logistics site

A US-based components supplier and one of Europe’s fastest growing roof window manufacturers have moved to a logistics site in Burton-upon-Trent.

St. Modwen attracted the companies to St. Modwen Park Burton (formerly Burton Gateway), which it says demonstrated the increasing demand for quality well-located warehouse space in the Midlands.

Supply Technologies, a US company which provides manufacturing components for a number of automotive companies in the region and beyond, will occupy a 25,446 sq ft unit on the site, while Keylite Roof Windows, part of the Keystone Group, Europe’s fastest growing roof window manufacturer, has taken 40,730 sq ft.

Both Supply Technologies and Keylite Roof Windows have signed 10-year leases on the units, which were speculatively built by St. Modwen as part of the second phase of development at the 1 million sq ft scheme.

The deals come as the developer begins work on its third phase, which will deliver a further 103,000 sq ft distribution unit this September.

Rob Richardson, senior development manager at St. Modwen, said: “We are delighted to welcome Supply Technologies and Keylite Roof Windows to St. Modwen Park Burton. Not only are they great additions to our growing industrial portfolio, but they are also key investors in the growth of the regional economy. These deals are testament to our decision to speculatively develop and deliver well-designed versatile units in Burton. We are looking forward to the completion of our next phase of development and welcoming further organisations to the business park.”

Stuart Whitehouse, managing director at Supply Technologies, said: “St. Modwen Park Burton will be our ninth facility in the UK and is ideally placed to service one of our major customers as well as enabling us to grow our business in the East Midlands and Staffordshire regions. The location is ideal for our purposes and the building is exactly what we are after, providing good height and easy access”.

Jim Blanthorne, operations director at Keylite Roof Windows, added: “We are delighted with our new warehouse and office premises at St. Modwen Park Burton. The new facility will provide greater opportunity for us to expand our product range and meet increasing demand for our award-winning products. Increased warehouse capacity will also allow Keylite to further improve stock-hold and future-proof our business in the light of external forces. We are committed to excellent service for our customers, and this new venture will allow us to service the GB market most effectively.”
Supply Technologies were represented by Kenny Allen of KWB Property in Birmingham and John Proctor of FHP represented Keylite Roof Windows.

The Birmingham offices of Savills and Knight Frank represented St. Modwen.
