New Indian restaurant set to open in Paradise Birmingham

How Dishoom will look

Indian restaurant Dishoom has been revealed as the latest tenant to move in to Paradise Birmingham in spring 2020.

Dishoom Birmingham will occupy part of the ground floor of One Chamberlain Square, the office space of which is fully let to accountancy firm PwC – which will also be moving into the building early next year. The new restaurant will overlook both Chamberlain Square and Centenary Way and will help complete the first phase of the development.

Rob Groves, regional director at Argent, said: “Bringing the critically acclaimed Dishoom to Birmingham demonstrates the appeal of Paradise with its perfect mix of location, top quality buildings and revamped public realm. Joining Mediterranean Wine Bar and restaurant Vinoteca, we are quickly becoming the natural choice for innovative leisure retailers keen on reaching an audience of up to 17 million people a year.”

Dishoom pays homage to the Irani cafés that were once part of the fabric of life in Bombay. Executive chef Naved Nasir’s menu of Bombay comfort food brings together the dishes of all Bombay – dishes from Irani, Parsi, Hindu and Muslim traditions.

The menu will be served alongside a new chef special, unique to Birmingham. The restaurant will also feature a Permit Room bar, serving Dishoom’s award-winning cocktails, teetotal tipples, house chai and more.

The restaurant will open in a 7,606 sq ft space at the front of One Chamberlain Square, overlooking the new public spaces and Congreve Street. Dishoom Birmingham is the team’s eighth Bombay café.

BAM Construction is currently completing the building of both One Chamberlain Square and Two Chamberlain Square.
