£14m luxury apartments development gets underway

The transformation of a West Midlands office block into 69 apartments in a £14m build to rent development is underway.

Construction and Fit-Out Solutions (CAFOS) has been appointed by developer Urban Village Capital to deliver the project at Four Oaks House, Sutton Coldfield.

Work has started on site to transform the landmark office building into a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments over four floors, with a roof terrace and secure car parking, for the private rented sector. It is expected to reach practical completion in Q4 2020.

Birmingham-based Urban Village Capital is led by chief executive Nick Sellman, chief operating officer Kevin Sharkey and construction director Jamie Sellman.

Sellman said: “It’s exciting to see work start on our Four Oaks House project which will bring a fresh lease of life to this high-profile building.

“We have instructed CAFOS to deliver the complete transformation of this tired building into what will be a great place for people to work, rest and play. The location is outstanding, being just a stone’s throw from Four Oaks train station, and a short walk to Sutton Park. The many shops, bars, restaurants and community facilities at Mere Green are also nearby.”

He added: “We are continuing to grow our portfolio of properties in the private rented sector and will therefore be retaining all of the apartments at Four Oaks House.”

CAFOS managing director Adam Collins said: “CAFOS is incredibly pleased to have been announced as contractor for the latest in a number of high profile developments being undertaken by Urban Village. We are confident that this project will offer fantastic living space in a very progressive area of Birmingham.”
