Stoke hotel and leisure complex shuts doors for good

A family-run hotel and leisure centre has said it won’t be reopening after being hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

Tollgate Hotel and Leisure employed 38 people when it was forced to close as the Government enforced lockdown measures in March.

A statement from the family said: “We regret to inform you that, after much careful consideration, we will not be reopening the doors to Tollgate Hotel & Leisure.

“If you wish to contact us, or have any items left on the premises that you wish to pick up, please let us know via FaceBook messenger so we can make the necessary arrangements.

“These are very sad times for the family and for many others hit by the Covid crisis.

“We thank you for your loyalty, membership and the many fond memories of all the people who came through our doors.”
