£300,000 refurb at industrial estate completes

Building consultants at Harris Lamb have overseen a £300,000 refurbishment project to overhaul a Coventry warehouse.

The business was retained by Ropemaker Properties to manage the refurbishment of units known as 3a and 3b at the Seven Stars Industrial Estate on Wheler Road.

Marcus Andrew, who was responsible for managing the project, said: “This is the latest of a series of refurbishments being carried out on the industrial estate. With demand for industrial stock remaining high throughout the Midlands, many landlords are recognising the opportunity to invest in refurbishing properties to put them into a good state of repair and condition to attract new tenants.

“Following the vacation of the former tenant, I was instructed to inspect the units, to provide specification of works documents and to project manage the works through to completion.

“This consisted of an extensive internal stripping out of the former tenant’s alterations, internal and external decoration works, installing new ceilings and lighting, repairing and coating of the roof sheets, and an overhaul of services.

Harris Lamb’s agency team has been instructed to let the 25,600 sq ft opportunity now that the overhaul is complete.

Further to the success of the project, the building consultancy team has been further instructed to manage refurbishment works at a neighbouring unit at the site, which are due to be completed imminently.
