People: Accountancy firm makes senior promotions; Two lawyers move up the ladder; and more

Accountancy firm Hayward Wright has made two senior promotions.

The practice, which has offices in Redditch and Worcester, has made Chloe Blackwell a director while Ollie Newburn moves up to client manager.

Alistair Hayward-Wright, managing director at Hayward Wright, said: “Both Ollie and Chloe are dedicated to their roles and have worked incredibly hard to assist our clients during some very challenging times.

“They are an important part of our future development and growth as a practice, and we are really proud to be promoting them to these new roles within our firm.”

Two lawyers at a Shropshire law firm have been promoted to associate solicitors.

Clinical negligence specialist Adam Hodson is based in Lanyon Bowdler’s Shrewsbury office and deals with claims involving delayed or missed diagnosis, surgical errors, cancer cases, deaths and inquests, as well as acting as an assistant coroner for the Birmingham and Solihull jurisdiction.

Joining Hodson as a new associate solicitor is Staci Robinson, a specialist in family law who is based in Lanyon Bowdler’s Hereford and Bromyard offices.

Contractor Willmott Dixon has appointed a head of sustainability for the Midlands to support its ambitious net-zero carbon targets.

Maggie Hall, who has more than 20 years experience in sustainability within the construction and telecoms sectors, has been hired to lead the contractor’s Now or Never strategy across the region.

Willmott Dixon has set several challenging targets to meet by 2030 – including achieving operational net zero across all new build and refurbishment projects, being a zero-carbon company without any offsetting, and improving more than 100,000 lives through its social value commitments.

Hall said: “Sustainability is an ever-evolving concept – especially in the construction sector – and net-zero targets across the industry are constantly changing. However, what has been immediately clear to me is that Willmott Dixon has a clear approach to where it wants to be and how it will get there.

“It is encouraging to see how many people in the business are already actively engaged in making Now or Never a success, and that a collaborative approach with our team, clients and consultants is going to be essential in helping us achieve the targets we’ve set.”
