Green light for £30m redevelopment of manufacturing HQ

The new £30m headquarters of Task Consumer Products has been given the green light in Wolverhampton, which could create up to 50 jobs.
Stoford is developing the 210,000 sq ft industrial scheme on an 18-acre site at Citygate Park, Stafford Road which will expand the manufacturer’s operations within a single location.
The site currently comprises two large warehouses, one occupied by Task, and the other formerly occupied by Fablink.
Demolition of the vacant unit has already began and will pave the way for an 83,500 sq ft extension to Task’s existing premises and the construction of a new 125,000 sq ft development on the same site. Both units will target BREEAM ‘Excellent’.
Task is one of the UK’s largest independent paper converters and specialises in the manufacture and distribution of soft tissue products including toilet tissue, kitchen towels and hand towels. It employs more than 120 full-time staff.
Nikul Patel, director at Task, said: “This significant milestone marks a pivotal moment in our company’s growth and expansion plans. The new site will provide us with the vital space needed to accommodate our increasing production demands and allow us to streamline our operations efficiently.
“With this development, we aim to enhance our capacity to meet the evolving needs of our customers and continue delivering high-quality products and services. We are grateful for the support from local authorities and stakeholders throughout the planning process, and we look forward to seeing our vision come to life as we embark on this exciting new chapter.”
Dan Gallagher, joint managing director of Stoford, said: “We are very pleased to have secured planning consent from the City of Wolverhampton Council for the redevelopment of Task’s headquarters.
“The firm has committed to making a significant financial investment in the site, which will secure its future in Wolverhampton and create new manufacturing and distribution jobs in the city. Work is underway on the demolition of an adjacent disused property, with construction of the new units due to start next month.”
