Celebrity hosts announced for Multicultural Business & Community Champion Awards 2024

Omar Lye-Fook MBE and Judi Love

Singer, songwriter and actor Omar Lye-Fook MBE and Judi Love, the stand-up comedian and Loose Women panellist have confirmed they will host the national MBCC (Multicultural Business and Community Champion) Awards embracing diversity held in Birmingham this year.

As well as her presenter duties with ITV’s Loose Women, Judi competed on the BBC series MasterChef and in the nineteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing. She’s also appeared on the comedy challenge show Taskmaster.

Omar learned his craft classically, playing the trumpet, piano and percussion, studying at the Guildhall School of Music in London. His most well-known song was his debut single ‘There’s Nothing Like This.’ It reached number 14 in the UK Singles
Chart on re-release in 1991.

On TV, he’s recently played the role of Avery Baker in the BBC soap opera Eastenders. The MBCC Awards was set up in 2016 with the sole purpose of recognising and valuing inspirational people nationally.

The Founder and CEO Zoe Bennett BEM said: “The mission was to focus on the people that make a difference in both the business and general community.  People who go out of their way to help others selflessly without wanting any praise or thanks. This is the platform where those people can be recognised nationally for the incredible work they do for the country.

“We have gone from strength to strength and grown significantly over the last seven years. We are so delighted that Omar and Judi have agreed to host this year’s awards. We are going to be celebrating multicultural diversity and success UK-wide
and we will have some international surprises on the night too.”

Since its inception, the MBCC awards have expanded far and wide to recognise and value outstanding individuals and organisations nationally. The event attracts more than 800 guests and keeps growing every year.

The dinner and business awards evening includes a red carpet drinks reception (at 5:30 pm), a 3-course dinner and show-stopping entertainment, followed by a DJ fest afterparty on-site at the Hilton hotel.

The evening celebrates and showcases the best of business and community work throughout the country. Awards will be presented at the dinner, including an ‘Unsung Hero of the Year Award and a ‘Role Model of the Year Award’.
