Green light for 180-home development in Worcestershire

Planners at Harris Lamb have partnered with housebuilders David Wilson Homes, part of Barratt Redrow, to secure approval for the development of 185 homes in a Worcestershire village.

Harris Lamb’s planning consultancy submitted an outline application to Wychavon District Council on behalf of David Wilson Homes.

The proposed development covers a 40-acre agricultural site at Orchard Farm, located to the north of Owletts End in Pinvin.

Simon Hawley, director, said: “This is an exciting application that will bring much-needed housing to Wychavon. The scheme will deliver up to 185 dwellings, 40 per cent of which will be made up of essential affordable housing, and several self-build plots, as well as a local centre, public open space including a play area, and associated infrastructure.

“The inclusion of the self-build/custom-build units is of particular interest in the context of the current housing land supply deficit, and we are delighted that the planning committee have approved the plans,”

The plans were approved with additional conditions that, under section 106 David Wilson Homes will contribute £1,292,118 to local educational institutions, allocate £120,000 to the Pershore and Upton Primary Care Network, and provide substantial funding for sports and leisure facilities at Pershore High School to further benefit the local community.
