Funding deal agreed for Shropshire health centre

A SUBSIDIARY of Primary Health Properties has entered into purchase of and funding agreements on a new medical centre in Shropshire.

The company, which is based in Woking, said that the purchase was for approximately £8.8m, with net assets acquired of £8.8m.

The building will be let to Shropshire County Primary Care Trust for occupation by themselves and a GP practice.

It has an expected completion date of July 2011 and will contain medical services such as a minor injuries unit, district nurses, dentistry, mental health and physiotherapy.

PHP is funding the project, which is being built by Wrexham-based developer Castlemead.

Work began in April last year on the £6m centre which will be situated in a former Cambrian Railways engineering building off Gobowen Road, in the town.
