Big times it right with Samsung

BIG Communications has secured two major contracts from Samsung Mobile in as many months. The first saw the team devise a gift-with-purchase promotion for 02.  Customers could win a free year’s membership to the Gourmet Society when upgrading their Samsung mobile. Last month, the agency helped launch the Google-branded handset Galaxy Nexus to O2 and Samsung staff, creating a custom-made ice cream parlour linking to the phone’s new Android operating system, affectionately known as ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’. Big’s Client Director, Jon Marchant, said: “Both our recent wins for Samsung share a common theme – customer insight right at the heart of the creative idea.” Samsung’s head of channel marketing, Carolyn Anderson, said: “Big are on a roll at the moment.”

MadeMedia completes busy month with THSH

JEWELLERY Quarter-based digital agency Made Media has completed the busiest month in its nine-year history, with a slate of new website launches for broadcasters and major arts venues such as Birmingham Rep and Birmingham Town Hall and Symphony Hall. The agency has also been recognised for its work for the prestigious Glyndebourne opera house. Made Media’s managing director Jake Grimley, said: “We’ve worked hard to build and establish our expertise in this area. A raft of high profile client wins, increasing international attention and now this award all show how this is paying off. We’ve never been busier than we are at the moment and, looking ahead to what’s coming up, 2012 looks like it’ll be even better for us.”

LHM lands CeWe Color deal

BIRMINGHAM-based digital and creative agency LHM Media has been awarded a six-figure contract by photo services business CeWe Color to launch its new greeting card arm. The agency won the business after a three-way pitch. The project to market Card Town consists of a new corporate identity, an interactive new website, digital marketing and an extensive social media campaign, all aimed at demonstrating the latest technology available to offer made-to-order greetings cards. The brief will be advanced to include through-the-line marketing activity in 2012. LHM has worked closely with the Card Town team to link the site to customers’ Facebook pages. Liz Hemes, account director at LHM said: “We were thrilled to win this pitch, it’s an opportunity to work with a very creative, successful business and there’s a lot of scope to take the Card Town concept forward.”
