New home for expanding West Mids logistics firm

A GROWING freight forwarding and logistics company has moved to a new base in south Staffordshire in order to expand.

Ebrex has relocated from Brownhills to Burntwood Business Park which is owned and managed by London and Cambridge Properties.

It has taken 10,010 sq ft in a new building (below) which is now fully occupied.

The company said it chose the site because of its road links, space for its truck fleet and to retain its growing local workforce.

The move has immediately created three new jobs, bringing the local workforce to 15, and the company will now also employ a number of additional ‘owner drivers’ to help with the higher volumes of freight through the Burntwood branch.

UK operations director Ian Edgar said: “Although Ebrex is still a young company in the UK – it has a very mature and experienced management team supported by a great group of enthusiastic and talented staff.

“We opened the Midlands branch of the company in 2008 with just four people working out of shared premises in Brownhills and we have built it up to a projected turnover this year of £2m.

“We needed to move to expand our business and chose Burntwood Business Park after looking at 25 to 30 properties over the last six months.

Ebrex runs a scheduled two way overnight trunk service between Burntwood and the German Ruhr area carrying express freight and parcels.

It has similar link ups with the Netherlands, Spain, France and Italy.
