Sign manufacturer uses FA endorsement for business push

A BIRMINGHAM-based sign manufacturer is using a powerful endorsement from the Football Association to mount a major business push.

Bowden and Dolphin was praised by the FA for its work fitting out signage ahead of the Community Shield game at Villa Park earlier this season.

The game, which saw Manchester City defeat Chelsea 3-2, took place in Birmingham because of the Olympics in London.

“The honour of completing this project pleased everybody who had an input,” said James Bowden, director at Bowden and Dolphin Signs.

“If the game was played where it normally is at Wembley Stadium, then we wouldn’t have won the contract. But this year saw the Olympic Games come to London, so we were lucky that Villa Park was chosen as an alternative.”

The undisclosed contract, awarded by the FA, enabled the firm to showcase its work to a global television audience of millions.

Charlie Boss, Marketing Manager for the FA Cup, said: “I’m delighted by the work carried out by Bowden and Dolphin Signs. The work they installed at Villa Park looked fantastic.”

Bowden and Dolphin worked closely with the FA design studio, which creates the designs.
