Give us a brief description of the building:
Located in the heart of Birmingham’s central business district on the corner of Church Street and Cornwall Street, Embassy House comprises a 60,000 sq ft grade A office building which uniquely combines an original period redbrick facade with modern accommodation.
Earlier this year, the building underwent a £2m refurbishment programme which included major works to the reception and communal area.
What’s the most interesting feature about the building?
Embassy House is unique because it combines a period frontage, whilst offering flexible and contemporary, floorplates behind. Following the recent refurbishment, there is a new feature reception overlooking the new Church Street Square re-development.
What’s the history of the building?
The period facade of the building dates back to 1899 and was constructed by architects Owen & Ward.
How much office space is occupied and how much is available?
Total floor space at Embassy House is 62,307 sq ft. Approximately 40,000 sq ft is now occupied following recent lettings to the Marston Group and Kings Chambers. Circa 22,000 sq ft is available in refurbished suites from 1,235 sq ft and floors of up of 8,562 sq ft.
Who owns the building and how is it being financed?
The Co-operative owns the building however AXA Real Estate Investment Managers act as fund managers. DTZ and Jones Lang LaSalle are joint letting agents.
