Tableware distributor takes 34,000 sq ft warehouse unit in Rubery

A TABLEWARE distributor has expanded its Midlands operation with the help of Redditch property agents John Truslove.
Redditch-based Arc International Tableware UK has operated from a number of warehouses and has now taken a further unit in Rubery.
Bay 1, Meade House, 25 The Avenue, encompasses 34,839 sq ft and has been taken on a one year lease.
Arc International Tableware UK is as one of the leading suppliers to the food service market across the country. Brands include Chef & Sommelier and Arcoroc.
The products are made by French multi-national Arc International which last year had a group turnover of £830m. It employs more than 11,000 worldwide.
Arc International Tableware UK, which is centred in Redditch and employs more than 30 people, is a stand- alone concern owned by businessman Brian Thorp. It acts as UK distributor for Arc International.
Arc International Tableware UK operations manager Bill Headley said: “These are prestigious brands and increasing in popularity.
“It means we are expanding rapidly and needed this extra warehouse space. Meade House was the nearest suitable facility we could find.”
John Truslove partner Ian Parker said: “It is always good to see growing businesses.
“Millions, though they would not know it, have a connection to Arc International Tableware UK given it supplies glasses to much of the UK pub trade.”
The business, formerly Alcester Glassware, was acquired by Arc International in 2003 but subsequently bought back by Thorp in 2009.
